Pros

Teachers and TA’s always have best interests of the students in mind and want what’s best for them. Teachers make lessons accessible to all abilities. . Class teams work well together and t.a’s feel their thoughts and ideas recognised by teachers.

Cons

Professional development is poor. Very difficult to get a response about any training courses available from senior management. Not many at all offered through the school. Resources are also extremely limited.

the colleagues at the school are very friendly and easy to work with. the kids are well taught and genuinly treat one another with respect. Teachers show effort every lesson and teach effectively in a way autistic students will understand which shows in the students progress.

Cons

Management is poor. The schools management are cold. Ive been at the school for 6 months and the headteacher hasnt spoken me once. The deputy manager never seems genuine when talking to me. New starters usually leave in 3-4 weeks due to frequent changes in the timetables. Your almost a substitute teacher.. Morale of staff is low as frequently they are critisized and pushed to follow a set of rules.. this then seems like a lovely place to work at due to good staff and kids but ruined by unorganised management and unstable timetables leading to frustration and overtime pushes one to leave and seek a happier option for the long run.
