Pros

Um… occasional free food in staff room. And they provide tea, coffee and milk. Chance of quickly climbing the ladder as so many staff leave. So if you can’t wait to climb that greasy pole and get away from teaching to Lord it over your colleagues and tell them how to do the job you failed at- this is the place for you!!

Cons

Behavioural issues are out of control. Students come and go as they please, swear at teachers, defy instructions… When you call for intervention from whoever is supposed to be on call, you will be lucky if anybody turns up- and even if they do they will try to force you to take the kid back into the lesson to continue the disruption so they don’t have to deal with them and apply the rules/ be the bad guy. You are really on your own dealing with chaotic and sometimes aggressive/ violent behaviour. I do not miss it.
