Parkgate Infants' and Nursery School

Even though this has got a bit out of control, I want to say my bit. Every school has its faults and issues and the lack of funding can make any school a difficult place to work at the moment. However, I think it’s fair to say that a lot of people have left this school due to the behaviour of the headteacher and his treatment of staff. His micromanagement, lack of trust and mood swings make it a very uncomfortable and exhausting place to work. You never really know where you stand because something that is encouraged one day will be questioned the next. Unfortunately it’s impossible to reason with him and any attempts to explain how you feel are met with a wall of defence and hostility. Ultimately, you can never win and are never good enough. Anyone who has worked there knows the truth and the level of turnover speaks for itself.

The fact that websites like this lose any real benefit with such behaviours (as you just then get real positive responses, which just starts to dilute everything). By all means score low and back it up with some facts, but some of this represents the same type of bullying behaviour that people are complaining about.

Horrific management. There is no communication between SLT and the rest of the school staff. The headteacher is a bully, takes no responsibility for his actions, and has zero respect for his staff. The school has a huge staff turnover because nobody wants to stay under his control. Do not work here!!!

Just read through the reviews and I find it interesting that the ‘positive’ (false positive) reviews are posted within 20 mins of each other! Almost as if people have been instructed to write them- a deep reflection of the controlled, negative environment cultivated in this so called school. What a joke. Seriously, for your sanity and mental wellbeing, avoid. This is my first review and I’m so glad I got round to leaving one and trying to counteract the propaganda being posted here!

I would give this place no stars if I could. What a horrendously emotionally draining experience. I left a while back but only just starting to feel myself get over the trauma inflicted by this place and the head’s micromanagement, bullying and constant critique. Avoid. Literally find any other job, in any other place.

Everything. Toxic working environment with an egotistical, narcissistic headteacher who bullies and belittles staff. Most people leave here as shells of their former self and too much goes unchallenged. None to little support from senior leadership in regards to bad behaviour and SEN children. Staff approach management with a problem and are gaslit and patronised into thinking they are the problem. Ridiculous turn over of staff.
