"Don't go there"

Positive Aspects

Beautiful building in a great location

Areas for Improvement

Poor management leading to unhappy overworked staff. No staff wellbeing set up or ever discussed. Very long days with low or no returns. Lower pay and less holiday than state schools yet the teaching day every day is two hours longer. Forced to run extra curricular clubs on top of this -again for no extra pay or incentive. This would most likely have been part of what was a high staff turnover when I was there. Seems to be no behaviour policy in place. Entering and leaving time of staff is actually checked. I hated the big brother culture there

Areas for Improvement

Long day (8.30 - 5pm); staff have to pay for their lunches (though £3 for a three course meal in central London is not bad); lots of change (I understand that it’s needed, going from a tutorial college to a boarding school, but there is a lot of it); ISI inspection (but that’s at every school); the expectation to run a co-curricular activity.
